GoPro Hero 13 Black with HB series lenses launched in India alongside smaller GoPro Hero model

GoPro has launched the Hero 13 Black, marking its most sophisticated action camera to date. This model offers interchangeable lenses from the Hero Black (HB) series, supports GPS functionality, and features a magnetic latch mount. With a larger battery, the Hero 13 Black promises longer usage times and enhanced thermal performance compared to its predecessor. According to the company, it is the smallest and most rugged waterproof 4K action camera with an LCD screen available on the market.

Pricing and Availability in India

The GoPro Hero 13 Black is priced at ₹44,990 in India, while the Creator Edition will cost ₹64,990. A complete accessory package for the Hero 13 is priced at ₹49,990. Pre-orders for both models begin today on platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital, with retail availability starting from 6:30 PM on September 10.

The HB series includes four accessories: an Ultra Wide-Angle Lens Mod priced at ₹9,990, a Macro Lens Mod for ₹12,990, and a four-pack of ND filters for ₹6,990. GoPro has not yet revealed the pricing details for the upcoming Anamorphic Lens Mod, which is anticipated to be released in 2025.

Additionally, a new GoPro Hero model will be available for ₹23,990, with pre-orders starting on September 16 and general availability from September 22.

Specifications of the GoPro Hero 13 Black

The GoPro Hero 13 Black is equipped with the same sensor as its predecessor, the Hero 12 Black, allowing for video recording at an impressive 5.3K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) or 4K at 120 fps. It also excels in capturing high-speed action, offering 2.7K video at 240 fps, and supports slow-motion recording options at 720p (400 fps), 900p (360 fps), and 5.3K (120 fps). The camera supports 10-bit Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) HDR video as well.

For photography, it captures 27-megapixel photos with HDR and RAW support. The camera includes a 1.4-inch front LCD and a 2.27-inch rear touchscreen. In addition, the camera includes a magnetic latch mounting system, mounting fingers, and a 1/4-20 mounting thread, along with GPS functionality for geotagging videos. It retains the HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization and HDR capabilities introduced with the Hero 12 Black.

The Hero 13 Black is powered by a 1,900mAh Enduro Li-ion rechargeable battery, offering extended runtime compared to the Hero 12 Black—up to 1.5 hours for 5.3K video recording and 2.5 hours for 1080p video capture. The camera is waterproof up to 10 meters and boasts faster Wi-Fi 6 connectivity than its predecessor.

The Creator Edition includes a magnetic latch mount, a Volta battery grip for up to five hours of video recording at 4K/30fps, a media mod with dual microphone recording capabilities (including support for third-party mics), and an LED light mod with a brightness of up to 200 lumens, compatible with the GoPro mount.

GoPro Hero Specifications

The latest GoPro Hero is the most compact model the brand has ever created, weighing in at only 86 grams—making it 35% lighter than the pricier Hero 13 Black. Unlike previous mini versions, this model features an LCD touchscreen and a mode button.

It can record video at 4K/30fps or 1080p/30fps, with slow-motion capabilities at 2.7K/60fps or 1080p/60fps. Video recording supports various aspect ratios, including 16:9, 4:3, and 9:16, and it takes 12-megapixel photos. The Quik app includes HyperSmooth stabilization for videos.

This new GoPro Hero is waterproof up to 5 meters and features an Enduro battery capable of recording up to 100 minutes of video at 4K/30fps or 155 minutes at 1080p/30fps. The built-in battery can be charged with the included USB Type-C cable.
